Additional regulatory approvals

BG Group will be working with the CEAA and the BCEAO on the environmental permitting process.  Other key permits for the proposed project include:

• Export license with the National Energy Board
• Construction permits and facility regulation with the BC Oil & Gas Commission
• Other approvals and permits through the Canadian Department of Fisheries and Oceans and the Major Projects Management Office

Submission of Project Description

A Project Description [link to PD posted on CEAA website] relating to the project has been submitted to the Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency (CEAA) and the British Columbia Environmental Assessment Office (BCEAO).  The Project Description provides detailed information on the proposed LNG facility, including regulatory requirements, potential effects and our active engagement and consultation with First Nations, as well as local communities and other stakeholder groups.

BG Group is seeking approval under the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act, 2012 and an environmental certificate under the BC Environmental Assessment Act and is seeking that the two regulatory agencies reach agreement on a harmonized process led by CEAA.
